New Volunteers

2019 TRAC Application & Training Sign-up

Hi there! We are so grateful for all of our volunteers. As a camp solely run by volunteers, we need your help to sustain our momentum. We are reaching out to see if you are planning to come to camp this year? And if yes, which training date you will be attending in order to volunteer at the TRAC this summer? Completing our questionnaire below helps us with camp planning, even if you cannot volunteer this year.

The trainings will be at Connection Church Statesboro (1342 Cawana Rd, Statesboro, GA 30461) from 9-5 on March 9, 2019 and May18, 2019. Lunch will be provided. We are trying to get an accurate head count so we would appreciate your response. We are asking as many people as possible to attend the first training so that we will know many more volunteers we must recruit. Volunteers must attend one of the trainings in order to volunteer at the camp overnight.

READ THIS BEFORE FILLING OUT THIS APPLICATION

Thank you for your willingness to be considered for a volunteer position at this summer's camp. Your desire to serve God by caring for our campers is an encouragement to our team. Many of our volunteers indicate that their camp experience is a life-changing week not only for our campers but for themselves as well.

The following information should be helpful to you as you complete your application:

The application, interview and training process for camp volunteers is rigorous. As you look through the application you will notice that we require a variety of specific information, all of which we consider necessary to help us to choose the best for fit camp. Therefore please, complete all of the application.

  1. For the protection of campers who have experienced abuse in their lives, we have rigorous systems in place for all volunteers including criminal background and reference checks, detailed training and strict rules and procedures at camp. If you have had a history of sexual or violent offense that involves children, you will not be considered for a volunteer position.

  2. We are a Christian organization and our philosophy of ministry is that our volunteers will have an active spiritual commitment to Christ. In both the application and the interview we will ask you about your church involvement and personal spirituality. Our goal is to provide children an atmosphere of care and love within the context of Christian truth and compassion.

  3. This camp is operated as a ministry of Hope Rising Georgia sponsored by Connection Church. As such, all volunteers will fall under the authority of the Camp Leadership as trained by the National TRAC offices and under the authority and beliefs of Connection Church. It is not required that you be a member of, or agree theologically with the sponsoring church, but as a volunteer, you need to understand the church leadership does have authority over the operations and expectations of this camp and the church’s beliefs will inevitably be evident in the selection process and operation of this camp as a ministry of their church.

  4. Please complete all sections of the forms. We recognize that in some cases sensitive and confidential information is required. We value your confidentiality and strive to limit access of all written and verbal information you may provide to those who need to know.

  5. Because of the uniqueness and intensity of this ministry with children of abuse, not all applicants are accepted.
